Since the girls dance with civic (city) dance teams, they have their recitals down at Balboa Park - a beautiful location fo
r fun times! Since they dance tap and ballet at different locations, we had two different recitals to attend - one on Friday for Brooke's ballet and one on Saturday for Ashley and Brooke's mutual tap class. For their tap routine, they were both on the very back row the whole time, but Ashley led one of the lines that walked all the way around the stage, and I seriously though

t she was going to panic in the car on the way down. At dress rehearsal she had gotten a little nervous and had forgotten some parts, but as she put it, "When I did it for real, I totally got it right!" They were both so excited to perform on the big stage. We tried to have a picnic before the two performances but both days we didn't quite make it there as early as we wanted (they have to be there an hour early anyway), but the kids main request was watermelon so they got a chance to eat that before and then we took some time to relax after!
We finished off the day with Kung Fu Panda, which I, for one, found HILARIOUS! How can you not laugh at belly fat humor?

Good times. You've got two cute little dancers there. And we loved Kung Fu Panda. So funny!
Love the outfits! Such cuties! I slept through Kung Fu Panda--parts I saw were funny, but I was TIRED! We need to go see it again.
I guess bella dancarella really had an impact on the girls! They look so cute! I haven't seen KungFu Panda yet, but Jack Black is always hillarious so I am sure it is good!
Ashley's got some moves! I love the costumes. Seriously, how cute is Brooke's red polka-dot number!
love the blurry one, feel like i'm there watching the dancing...just think of it as an action shot and not blurry.
SOOO cute. Mia wants to start dancing, I"m not sure I'm ready for that step...
