Full swing

Summer is in full swing - beach day on Wednesday, swimming on Tuesday and Thursday at our friends' pool and of course swimming in our own pool Monday and Friday (yes, that's the same sweet plastic pool we've had for the last 7 years - just getting our money's worth.

It is making it really hard to complain to Robie while he is at work every day that I have to "work so hard" getting the kids ready and home from the beach.  No, seriously, it's a lot of work! (see, I can't even type it with a straight face).  The cleaning up afterward is kind of the bummer, especially when swimming in our own pool which means Fox will climb in at least 3 times with his regular clothes on or returning from the beach with yet another load of sandy towels and swimsuits. 
We did go "adventuring" on Monday night so Robie even got to have some fun!  Lauren gets so nervous with any sort of hills, so she kept freaking out, which made her friend, Carson say, "i'm getting bored of hearing her crying."  yeah, me too buddy.

We even spent one day entirely at our friend's house - breakfast, lunch and dinner.  When we left before they were actually in bed, Brooke even had the nerve to say, "I thought we were staying all day".  Um, yeah, that is pretty much the definition of all day.  It's just never enough, is it?   Oh yeah, and I had another birthday.  Dinner with friends/pingpong/cards/cakes/laughter=awesome.
