Special Request

We had a fun Primary activity this morning. I got to run around taking pictures and help Maren do an awesome Dominican Republic craft (go Maren go Maren - you should really ask her to demonstrate her Merengue). Anyway, the kids had fun, although Lauren is definitely coming down with something so she is CRANKY!
The afternoon was highlighted by my niece, Mia, coming over to play while her parents went with her brothers to the movie. Mia is the cutest kid, but she does have some serious separation anxiety going on right now, so she was a little sad at first (ok, the neighbors were coming out to see what was going on), but all of a sudden she just snapped out of it and then she and the girls had so much fun. When she was being sad I was trying to emphasize how sometimes when you go play at other people's houses you get special treats that your parents might not let you have (sorry, jenn, I figured it was worth a shot and I figured she might go for a popsicle:)). Finally Mia asked me for something (I thought I must have heard her incorrectly) since her request was a steak. Hilarious. And, yes, I did defrost a steak and pulled out the old George Foreman grill to cook it up for her.. after she snapped out of it I warmed it back up and she really enjoyed it. And to really top off the great afternoon, the girls actually played in the play house - Brooke was willing to do anything with Mia since her other option was cleaning her room.. woo hoo!

Oh that Mia. I love that you made her a steak, that is hilarious. The trip to disneyland looked like a blast. I'm so jealous you are close enough to go frequently. Blog looks awesome!

Michelle, you win the best aunt award. My nieces better not read your blog. A couple of days ago my 3yo niece Cammi was over and she wanted something to eat. I was trying to get her to eat something healthy, so I offered her a carrot. She looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Bunnies eat carrots. I'm not a bunny!"
