Fake World

I’ve been in a fake world – a world where someone cooks for you, cleans for you, takes your baby when he cries, goes to the store, takes care of your older kids (but then lets you take them to do fun stuff) – it’s called, “mom’s in town” world, and it was awesome. I think both Robie and my mom were getting concerned that I really needed to get out of the house, but actually I really enjoyed my time at home relaxing. The girls even enjoyed it since Grandma would play unending Yahtzee games (even while holding Fox).

My mom had to leave on Tuesday, so I decided we better start a transition into leaving the house, so on Monday we took Fox to the zoo.

As usual, I enjoyed the zoo, but this trip was highlighted with something totally different – they rode the Balboa Park Railroad. We usually park over by the carousel, so everytime we are going into the zoo, we walk right past the train, and EVERY time, Lauren has asked me about it, and I’ve told her it isn’t open (which is mostly true since it is only open in the summer and on weekends). Anyway, that is just the kind of thing that grandma’s are good for, so on our way out from the zoo, grandma and the girls got took a little ride – Lauren just kept saying how glad she was that it was “finally open”. It made me feel a teeny bit bad, not bad enough to admit when they are open in the future, but still.

Since it is not very busy (odd that a lot of people don't want to pay $2 for a ride), they have put giant stuffed animals on there, so the girls spread out to sit by each one.
