new tricks

One thing I love about Fox' age (14 1/2 months) is that he is learning at least one new thing every day.  His most recent talent would be shaking his head, "no."  I"m not sure why this one had to come so early in the learning curve; but so far he has only used it for good (communication like, "do you want more yogurt, fox".. shakes head "no") but I'm sure that soon enough he'll be using it for more sinister purposes (Fox, come here...shakes head, " no").    Another skill would be eating random things - I"m sure this is common, although with Lauren's horrible eating tendencies it still surprises me that Fox is eating our dinner when she isn't.   One of my favorites came last week when my friend, Brandy, brought us dinner (I know, we're so spoiled!) since Robie was out of town and Fox was loving the pork pieces that I lovingly cut into dainty bite size pieces.  Of course, when I got the piece of pork out for lunch the next day he wanted some (and who wouldn't?), but when I cut him his little teeny pieces, he looked at me like i was just crazy and kept saying, "mmm"  "MMM" (his current way of saying pretty much everything except dada, mama and chicken - no, seriously, he says chicken) and pointing at the giant piece from which I removed the small pieces.   Finally I just handed him the entire pork chop and he ate the ENTIRE thing.  He just kept it in his hand gnawing away at it - we even took it with us in the car to pick up from kindergarten and by the time we got back he was almost done (which is, unfortunately, about the time I realized it was picture worthy - see that little teeny chunk left in his hand, that used to be larger than my whole hand).
One of his other new things he loves to do is chase after people with this princess wand (shhhh, don't tell robie).  I think he just picked it up one day and the girls started to run away, so now he loves to say, 'AAGHGHG" and chase people down.
