almost

Last week was Spring Break. I love it when the kids don't have school (for short periods of course). We started the week off at the Science Center in Balboa Park. The kids actually requested that (weirdos!). I thought it was fun - I wanted to stop at each item and read the explanation of how it worked and the scientific explanation behind it, mostly the kids just wanted to see the stuff move in weird ways. My favorite was the description of chaos as something that can't really be predicted. For example, the weather is chaotic - you can try to predict it, but very small changes (like the temperature being a few degrees warmer than expected one day) could throw the prediction completely off, thus throwing even further off any other predictions on which that one was predicated. Another example would be Lauren's behavior on any given day. She MIGHT be pleasant and have a great time at the beach with friends, or she might get frustrated by so much sand, then 10 minutes later be pleasant again - all hypothetical of course..)

Anyway, back to the science center.  The upstairs was fun because they have a "kids only aged 3-5 Kid Zone" up there.  Thank goodness I have 2 kids in that age range, so the other two "helped" the younger ones out :)

 see how helpful Brooke is?

This was probably the most time consuming part besides the kid zone.  They stood there swirling magnet balls around and around for a good 10-15 minutes.  Nice.
Tuesday was  a beach day which was great, because it was cold the rest of the week (brr, 60's.. ... ha ha. that jokes for you in Utah with your snow, mom!)  Anyway, it was a beautiful day, as evidenced by a little bit of sunburn (guess I forget Brooke's back, oops).
We even took the kite and had it flying again for a while (thanks to Brooke's serious skills).
Disneyland Wednesday (busiest day EVER), cleaning day Thursday, park day Friday.  oh, and broken cameras to camera shop on Tuesday afternoon (thus, no more pictures of the week....)  Overall, very fun (yet kind of tiring week).  I was almost sad to see the kids go off to school this morning, almost...
