I used to think of Fox as a whimp, but I'm starting to realize that he is actually just really shy, because he is definitely not a whimp. As proof of his ability to be stubborn and demand his own way, he has been nixing nap time. A couple of weeks ago, his favorite saying was, "I just woke up". He says it in the cutest way, too, with a little lilt at the end that attempts to give it a positive spin. It really is cute, except for that is also is really annoying. I even got some funny video (which I don't think i've ever posted on blogger before, but I'm going to give it a shot).
The day after this video he was quietly disassembling his bed (blankets, pillows thrown out) and then removing his pants and was working on his shirt when I went in and startled him. He immediately gave me his silly grin and said in his favorite line, "I just woke up". Nice try. I've titled this photo "Nap gone wrong, part 2" in keeping with the video titled, "Nap Gone Wrong"
I seem to have solved the problem by incorporating a longer story time and lots more "nap" talk. So now we read at least 3 books, of his choosing, and I start talking about nap time about an hour before. He still skipped his nap at least one day but at least for the most part he is getting the rest he needs (and I'm getting the quiet time I need!)
