Over Break

While we were on break for Christmas we did some relaxing at the homestead (which, considering it was in the 80's was quite fun), but we also took a few forays into the very popular tourist attractions here in San Diego. Clearly we were not the only people, since I think both the zoo and Sea World were at summertime busy-ness level, but good times were had by all.  We ended up staying all day at both places (usually we do just a few hours at a time). Mendenhalls and Chambers came with us to the zoo.  Since Mendels don't have passes we figured we should really see everything there is to see - and we did!  Even I was almost burned out (and I love the zoo).

Sea World was mostly a stop so we could see the "snow". They had this whole "snow world" section where the kids could go sledding and play in the icy snow.  They were super excited about it, since we missed any snow up at Grandma's in Utah (well, apparently, everyone missed it since it's been a really dry year there).  Anyway, Fox really enjoyed it - he's kind of a whimp so the fact that it was a nice, short sleeved day was probably helpful in warming his hands up quickly once he was done playing.

The show at Sea World was seriously so hot, we all thought we were going to pass out (and we were partially in the shade!)  It was a beautiful day (even though Jenn took all the pics so I can't prove it :))
