Ashley's fall soccer season just finally ended. She was selected to play on the all star team for the Girls Under 10 years old and so then Robie got to co-coach the team. They played in the regional (all of San Diego county) championships about a month ago, and won the whole thing! Then they went to the sectionals (all of Southern California) this weekend in Garden Grove. It was very fun - and they were all close games - they won one, tied one and lost one. Since it was on the "points" system, they didn't move on to the next game, they missed it by one stinking point! I think sometimes it is easier to just lose by 20, then you know you had no chance, right? It sure made for some excitement, though. We actually went back to see the championship game and I'm so glad we didn't play in that - they went into overtime and then penalty shootouts, then a sudden death penalty round - too much pressure for me and for these under 10 year old girls! On Saturday afternoon after the games, we let the kids go to the hotel pool. It wasn't even 70 degrees outside and the pool was totally cold, but they didn't care! Most of the team was out there as well and they even dragged Robie in, clothes and all (I checked his pockets for electronics just to make sure he was clear before he went in). I have video of it, if I can figure out how to transfer that over. Thank goodness the hot tub was hot so they could warm up then jump back in the pool to cool off.
This picture shows Ashley's grumpy "wish I could play again" face. I like her competitive spirit, but she's definitely got to shake it off a little quicker! Fox was just so glad that daddy was home from China that he didn't care what we did as long as he could be with Robie. pretty cute, except for when Robie was coaching and I was supposed to keep Fox away. Hey, I tried :)
