Did you know that Christmas is in like 2 weeks? I guess maybe there are positives to the whole "planning ahead" thing... whatever.
Meanwhile, I'm just pretending like the Christmas season will last forever. I went with Brooke's class on a field trip to Mission Trails yesterday. Last time I was there it was over 12 years ago and I was single - it's changed a lot. It's always fun for the first 30 minutes and then I sort of wish I could fast forward through the docents and their lengthy and slow descriptions of plants. Brooke has been fascinated with the Kumeyaay Indians and she was thrilled to learn a lot of new information, including a few, possibly inappropriate old Indian folk stories. One of them involved the sun being too close to the earth and burning the first man on his finger, which is where we get the little white moon shape on your fingernail. Brooke leaned over to me and says, "I didn't know that"... yeah, cuz it's not true.

Are you sure we've only got 2 weeks? I need at least 3 1/2!!
And I get to fit a wedding in this year...whatever. I'm giving Tom a reception for Christmas. I don't have time for shopping.
Brooke has such a cute smile. Have you taken her to Metate hill to see the grinding stone and huts at the Kumeyaii Center? She would love it.
Ha! And you mock me for all my planning! That is the one field trip I have missed with both of my kids (I still have Jon's turn). They come home so excited about it. That's great that you went!
And I always wondered how I got moons on my fingernails...
We were counting days just today! I can't believe it. I feel special that in a way I made it on your blog via your favorite sugar cookie recipe!
