Grumpy and Clean (there should be a dwarf called that...)

I was feeling a little grumpy this morning since my jaw and tooth were hurting from some dental work yesterday, so we decided to just hang out at home.  On the plus side, Fox actually got a relatively lengthy nap, which he has not really done since school got out.  On the downside, all the kids wanted to do was get more things out - we went through making pompoms, to glue gunning the pompoms into little creatures (thanks to the Short family for their crafting inspiration); then it was finding little pieces of foam to add to the creatures; then it was playing with their newly created creatures on the bed part of the pullout couch downstairs (and, of course, they had to put the sheets on the bed).  They even talked me into playing Clue.  For the record, Brooke is really good at Clue - Ashley and the neighbor, not so much, and one game is definitely my max for maintaining interest levels.
The afternoon got much more exciting - Ashley got her braces on, and, as has been the usual, I was confused again, since I didn't realize she was getting a full set on!  She was very nervous as we got there, although I think she was playing it up and she was really still excited (I mean, she has been talking about it for the last 2 months!).  Afterwards she was quite uncomfortable, so she said she knows why people don't want braces now.   oh, and next time I mention that I have the "perfect" plan to get something done on the car while we take a leisurely walk to the orthodontist, remind me that Lauren will not be happy and will whine the entire way.  Just in case I forget.  Reading over this post is making me think I"m still kind of grumpy.
Yesterday was a beautiful day at Hilltop Park.  I definitely need to get out and talk with other adults at least for a little while every day (I did push Lauren on the swing briefly as well).  When we got back, Brooke was on a roll for some reason - she cleaned out the toy closet, and vacuumed the whole house.   She is sort of obsessed with our new vacuum, so that helped, but unsolicited she said, "my new goal is to keep my room clean all the time."   hmm, sounds good to me.  So then I talked Robie into taking the older girls to swim laps with him at the pool.  He wanted to go, they wanted to go - win, win!  When they have cooperated and then i can find something to reward them with like that, I just love it.
now my card reader isn't working - I can feel my grump level rising.  guess no pictures tonight (collective sigh).

I must admit I was slightly nervous about your perfect plan too. But, see I know you're a trooper and you pulled it off! Plus, would there really have been any less whining if you had been at home anyways? (I mean that in the nicest way Lauren... :)
Today will be awesome~~

Busy, busy day. So if I buy a vacuum like yours will it come with someone who will use it as well? I'd pay extra!
