Stumble

Lauren loves to play with my ipod.   I put some games on there specificially targeted for kids, and of course, she has no interest in those.  I think I've mentioned before the ironic fact that she loves to watch the cooking shows I have on there (which I have actually never watched); but then I also downloaded some little Sesame Street video snippets.  Most of them are random stars talking about the "word of the day".  Lauren's favorite is "stumble"  I'd say for the last month, she uses any opportunity to use said word.  For example, the other day, she tripped on a shoe that was left out and promptly said, "Hey, that shoe made me stumble." so cute. She still isn't eating many food options, though, so I have started a war and I will win this one!  I have decided that she at least needs to eat one bite of our main dish at dinner and until she does she can not eat ANYTHING else.  It started with our beef stroganoff on Thursday night - even Fox was eating some, and I just couldn't take it any more.   She would not eat it until Friday afternoon - that's right, she went more than 24 hours without eating any food (ok, I know she stole a handful of cheerios and ate them after lunch time).  All she had to do was eat one little forkful of brown rice with a teeny bit of stroganoff.  Finally Ashley hand fed her the kernels of rice literally one by one.  She is CRAZY!  Tonight she just had to eat one little (seriously teeny) bite of taco meat from our taco salad - not the lettuce, not the tomato or beans, just one bite of the meat.   It only took her an hour until she broke down and ate it in the smallest bites (that's right, numerous bites to eat less than a full biteful of meat) possible - Robie set up the fire pit so the kids could make smores and it was more than she could take.  I'm breaking her down I tell you.  One small bite for Lauren, one giant bite for mommy kind.
In other Lauren news, she has a new favorite toy - the old Barbie Jeep.  We got this from some friends when Brooke was young, but after years of use, the battery was dead, so we finally got a new one and she loves driving this thing around.  She really wants to take Fox for a drive, but there are no seat belts, so she can only do that when her sisters go and hold him in.

We went on a nature walk this afternoon to a new spot and she was so happy to find a walking stick.  She was a great sport, even though she really didnt' want to cross the bridge.  Once she got up there and realized it wasn't that scary she was ok and we had fun.
It was like the afternoon of the insect.  We saw quite a few fuzzy caterpillars and this guy... anyone know what it is?

You go, Michelle. I'm fighting the same fight with both of mine!
