leprechaun

Lauren woke up early this morning, not sure what woke her up but she came running in very excited because she finally wiggled her 4th tooth out of her mouth. So now she has NO front teeth, and she's super excited about it. And thanks to her obsession with the Ipad camera I have plenty of pictures to demonstrate.
Along with that, it was spring picture day (is it me, or are they just adding more and more things tothe school year to make it more annoying to us poor parents that have no interest in paying the school to take our child's picture?). Anyway, she did let me put her hair up in a ponytail, so that should make a nice addition to the "no teeth" picture.
"Hmmm, can you see my upper tooth missing" also, "that shot isn't that flattering...."
"oops, missed my teeth - try again, 40 more times."
"ooh, i think i got a good angle on that one," she says to herself...
"maybe if I try from the side"
*4 photos selected from the actual 50 taken...
here's the problem of the day, though.  Lauren came home from school talking about leprechauns - she's going to catch one on St. Patricks Day, apparently.  Just in the off chance it happens, I did already get her to agree to split the gold with me.   Never hurts to cover your bases.  Anyway, she was kind of building it up like we were definitley going to have a leprechaun visit (her kindergarten teacher is really great, but as evidenced by all the leprechaun coming to your house talk doesn't have any children of her own).  I'm never on the ball, but I did facebook my concern and got some good ideas (and a few good laughs!).  I think I'll do the Lucky Charms (because i have some) and green milk situation.  Lauren has high hopes but the other girls have probably given up at this point - they don't even ask about the tooth fairy anymore.   What? she's unreliable, ok, geez...  Lauren really cracked me up when we were driving home tonight from Brooke's soccer game and someone (I think it was Ashley) said that she was going to be a leprechaun tomorrow and Lauren, totally matter of fact guffawed and said, "you don't even have big ears!"  duh.

Leprechauns..ugh! I stuck with the line that they only visit schools. They're not like Santa Claus who can visit everyone's house for goodness sakes!
