I have been making a real effort to be available to the girls this week after school. No computer, no cooking dinner, no cleaning/laundry, etc. It is cracking me up, because it has led to quite a few interesting conversations. Most of those conversations revolve around both of the girls' drama at recess. It is amazing that the same day can be described as both the "best" and the "worst" EVER within one conversation with the same girl. The ups and downs of friendships are so ridiculously magnified in their recess/school class environment. Is it possible that somehow the will actually learn from this and when they are teenagers they won't have to deal with any heartache or drama with their girl friends? I didn't think so, but I sure would hope it would provide some sort of purpose!
this picture really has nothing to do with their school drama, but they were so excited about the face painting at the neighbor's birthday party I had to show it off.
On another note, somehow the topic of what they thought I was doing on one particular day came up. Here is Brooke's hypothesis, as stated:
"you went to the bathroom 3 times. You watched Oprah. You read your book. You took a nap"
Pretty good guess. Does sound like an enjoyable afternoon - maybe tomorrow :)

Brynn avoided a lot of the girl drama. I think she didn't get into it because having brothers, she didn't really know how.
There are always mean girls.
Love the cute face paint.
I think your girls have been spying on me...
I would probably give my left leg if it meant no high school drama for Annie. I wish they could get it all out of their system before.
I love the picture. It's so good that you are keeping the communication lines open for your girls. I don't know if they can avoid the teen drama, but it helps if they can talk to mom about it.
I also loved Brooke's hypothesis on your day. No Oprah for me, but I totally sacked out for the afternoon nap today!
They are so funny! Love the faces. Like Jenny, I agree that it is so cool that they talk to you about it. I'd rather hear all the drama and try to help, you know? The topics just get better and better!
Ugh. Here's hoping you find the secret to avoiding the drama. I just had guy friends and got around it that way...
