definitely different

Boys are different than girls.  At least in our house.  With older siblings, we don't have a ton of new toys for Fox, so he plays with some of the same toys as the girls.  The differences are amazing, however.  The girls have had Nerf guns for years... they usually shoot the bullets once or twice, then the gun lays there never to be remembered.  Fox, on the other hand, loves his shooter guns.  He picks them up and carries them around, sometimes even when he doesn't have bullets.  When he is at the Mendenhalls, somehow within moments of arriving he is usually carrying one of their large guns around with a gigantic grin on his face.  What is the deal with that?  If you want him to laugh, give him a shooter gun with a Nerf bullet in it and then let him shoot you with it.  He finds it to be hilarious!
Anyway, so lauren has a renewed interest in babies lately and earlier she pulled out the old babies from the bottom of the toy chest (no, seriously, way at the bottom.)  She and a friend gave the dolls a little bath time, played with them for the afternoon and ditched them again.  Fox, on the other hand, has now commandeered the baby and is really enjoying it.  Yesterday when he had a friend over they practiced pushing the babies down the slide.  Then he wanted to change the baby's diaper (which is ironic considering he has no interest in getting his own diaper change) and has been walking around holding the baby all day.  He does still do things differently with the babies than his sister - I'm pretty sure they never shoved the baby into the bus and played cars with the babies (in fact, they were never really big "pretend" play kind of kids, whereas Fox loves to pretend play with any and everything.  It was only a one day thing, but still, he just sees things a little differently...

I love that little guy. He can come over anytime to get a dose of the big guns... :)
